Who We Are
Dr. Stephanie Perkins Mahan, a Southern Iowa native and board-certified family medicine physician, leads Medicine Creek Wellness. She is a member of American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG). Dr. Mahan obtained her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her Family Medicine Residency at Broadlawns Medical Center. She also participated the Rural Expanded Surgical Skills Track fellowship in surgical obstetrics at Wayne County Hospital in partnership with MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines. After practicing full-scope family medicine with obstetrics for over 8 years at Wayne County Hospital in Corydon, Iowa, she established her own practice, Medicine Creek Wellness, focusing building personal connections to address your unique needs.
What We Do
Medicine Creek Wellness merges comprehensive primary care with specialized wellness and functional medicine expertise, offering membership-based direct primary care (DPC) services for in-person patients. Additionally, we provide specialized online consultations focusing on hormone disorders such as perimenopause and menopause, in addition to targeted nutritional consultations to optimize health for pregnancy, and we conduct deep-dive functional medicine consults to uncover the root causes of complex, chronic conditions.
Who We Help
We care for entire families and people of all ages from Southern Iowa and Northern Missouri in our primary care clinic. Our online specialty consultations extend to those with hormone imbalances, individuals seeking optimal health for pregnancy or struggling with infertility and those looking to improve their health by getting to the root cause of their illness - our virtual consults are currently for individuals in Iowa and Missouri, but we will soon be expanding to other states! Dr. Mahan particularly likes to take on difficult cases and complex medical conditions for people who have struggled to find effective answers through conventional medical avenues.
Our Vision
Our vision is simple: to take the time to listen, to truly understand your unique health needs, and empower you to reach your wellness goals. We aim to move beyond symptom management, fostering a partnership with each patient to achieve lasting health and address the root causes of disease through personalized care.
We are located at 515 E. Marion Street, inside the Salsberry Clinic, in Corydon, Iowa, just behind Your Neighborhood Pharmacy - you can see the big "515" from the highway!

We must be respectful of the space we share with Cindy Salsberry of The Salsberry Clinic & WoundCARE, and Kim Baker of Healthy Skin by Kim. They operate businesses independent from our own and cannot respond to inquiries or scheduling requests for our patients.

Our in-person clinic visits are available
Tuesdays from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Fridays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
We offer telehealth visits on
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Please note that hours may vary, and we encourage you to call or text us for urgent needs outside these times.
All visits are by appointment only, and we cannot accommodate walk-ins, but if you call or text us, we will do our best to schedule you on short notice.
